On April 14th, 2016, Town Meeting voted unanimously to purchase 2 more parcels of open space totaling 26.8 acres from the Maxwell Trust using Community Preservation Funds to do so. We are very appreciative of all who attended Town Meeting and voted to finish preserving this Bates Lane Conservation Forest. This means that 425 acres will be preserved in the West End in perpetuity. It has taken 12 years of Town Meeting votes to accomplish this goal but you stayed with it and we want to thank you. What a legacy you all have created!
